The market demands it. The planet begs for it.

The future needs you.

Green Gen is the first school of sustainability in Portugal designed for young people who want to explore their place in the world and have a say about the future.

Green Gen Manifesto

You feel you don’t fit in.
That you don’t know what your talent really is.
That stability and purpose seem incompatible.
That the world’s problems are too big for you.

But we know that in that dissatisfaction you gain strength.
And that’s where you think, create, ask: where can I be useful?

Here is the place you were looking for,
Right in the heart of Porto’s university area.
A place that needs your curiosity,
And your creativity, drive, for sustainability.

All the solutions are waiting for you to invent them.
All the organizations are waiting for you to help them evolve.
We need you. Will you come?

Why Green Gen was born

  • Green talent hiring is accelerating faster than global hiring (Global Green Skills Report 2025, LinkedIn)
  • Yet, there is a shortage of specialized professionals in sustainability (Jornal de Notícias, 2025)
  • At the same time, thousands of young people in Portugal remain in NEET situations (not in employment, education or training) (PORDATA, 2025)

→ Green Gen was created to reverse this reality: to reduce the green skills gap by engaging young people in learning focused on employability and the sustainable transition.

The Green Gen magic

Green Gen is not a traditional school: it was designed to be an immersive and transformative educational experience.

You won’t have:

  • Classes or modules, but missions
  • Teachers or trainers, but mentors
  • Formal assessment, but you will go through a game with stages and a final project

Here you will:

  • Gain the basics, but quickly jump into real challenges
  • Have access to professionals, but also learn from your peers
  • Learn in a classroom, but be encouraged to explore your community
  • Evolve within a structure, but experience a surprise dynamic every week

Practical information

What you will learn: green skills and future skills. More information about the missions and their mentors coming soon.
